Dr Craig Ironfield

Dr Ironfield graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2007, and went on to complete post-graduate training in anaesthesia at St Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne. After completing fellowship training at The Royal Melbourne Hospital with a focus on trauma and major head and neck surgery, he returned to St Vincent’s Hospital as a staff anaesthetist, and is currently the head of the department’s quality and safety committee. He also holds an honorary appointment at The University of Melbourne, and is actively involved in both medical student and post-graduate education.

He provides anaesthesia for a wide range of specialties, with particular clinical interests including vascular surgery and neurosurgery. He has become skilled at a range of regional anaesthetic techniques, and before surgery will discuss the type of anaesthesia that is best suited to you as an individual.
